What the site saves.

keeps the signup flow intentionally light. Resident Card asks for an email and optional profile answers such as work lane, AI experience, generation vibe, and what you want from the site. Those choices help shape future packs and community features.

Before You Sign Up

Before signing up, quiz scores, trading-card pulls, secret stickers, and Resident Card choices are saved in this browser using local storage. They do not follow you across devices unless Resident Card login is connected and you sign in.

Resident Card

When you sign in with your Resident Card, uses Supabase to send the login email and store your Resident Card profile plus town rewards like stickers, badges, trading cards, and quiz progress. Rewards are for fun and progress tracking, not verification or certification.

Newsletter

The newsletter is handled through Buttondown. During Resident Card signup, Send me the Wednesday Postcard is selected by default; untick it if you do not want the weekly email. You can also request the Postcard without creating a Resident Card from the standalone Post Office form.

Public Cards

Member cards are meant to help the room feel like a real community: easier introductions, shared interests, and more ways to find people building with AI too. Sharing is encouraged, but it should never feel required. Public sharing uses a separate card-builder approval step. Keep confidential work information, customer data, and anything private out of submissions.

Miss Jeeves

Ordinary Miss Jeeves searches are used to find material in the current LAiDIES catalogue and are not stored by LAiDIES as raw question text. Miss Jeeves may send a question and a bounded set of catalogue entries to Cloudflare Workers AI to interpret which current LAiDIES material answers it. Cloudflare says Workers AI customer content is not used to train models or improve Cloudflare or third-party services without explicit consent. Do not enter personal, confidential, customer, account or password information. Read Cloudflare’s Workers AI data-use terms.

If Miss Jeeves cannot answer, you may explicitly ask LAiDIES to cover the topic. That separate action stores the wording you approve in an access-restricted Cloudflare D1 editorial queue. The live free-text copy expires after 30 days; Cloudflare D1 Time Travel may retain deleted database history for up to another 30 days. LAiDIES keeps the topic category, a one-way duplicate-detection digest, workflow status and aggregate request count so the editorial team can decide what to add. Your receipt lets this browser check the request’s status. It is not connected to your ordinary searches, reading history, Resident Card or Puffy Stickers.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to LAiDIES. Plausible does not use cookies, local storage, or persistent identifiers. It measures page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location derived from an IP address; Plausible says it does not store raw IP addresses or full user-agent strings. Its daily, non-persistent identifier is used only to count aggregate visits. Read Plausible’s data policy.

We use Microsoft Clarity for behavioural metrics, heatmaps, and session recordings to find and fix usability problems. Clarity may collect page-rendering and interaction data, including mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling, and may use first- and third-party cookies and pseudonymous identifiers to associate page views and sessions. Microsoft says recordings are generally retained for 30 days; after that, it keeps 1% of recordings or 10 recordings per day, whichever is higher, for up to 9 months. Favourite recordings and click, heatmap, and labelled-session data may also be retained for up to 9 months. For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Microsoft says Clarity’s Consent Mode waits for a valid consent signal before setting cookies; LAiDIES does not currently provide a consent choice or send a Clarity consent signal from this site. Read Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.

Miss Jeeves writes privacy-safe aggregate service events to Cloudflare Analytics Engine: controlled topic category, answer outcome, result ID, placement and counts. These events never include the raw question, receipt, identity, reading text or Resident Card data. Cloudflare retains Analytics Engine data for three months. LAiDIES verified the production connection and a controlled result-open record on August 24, 2026.
