LAiDIES helps women understand and use AI through stories, practical tools, games, music and community. Welcome to the Rewind Era—twenty years of pop culture, from dial-up to downloads (1990–2010)—and to SUNNYVAiLE, the learning town where Girl Power meets Machine Power.

The LAiDIES method

The plot explains it. The analogy unlocks it. Practice makes it click. The soundtrack makes it stick.

Your brain has been saving Clueless, Carrie Bradshaw, “Wannabe,” dial-up tones, butterfly clips and roll-on glitter for years. At LAiDIES, that is not useless trivia. It is a head start.

Every lesson unfolds in SUNNYVAiLE—a fictional town tuned to the Rewind Era (1990–2010), where sequential stories, accurate pop-culture analogies, practical activities and original songs work together to make AI easier to understand, use and remember.

How it all works

  1. 1

    Follow the plot

    Start with the Visitor’s Centre, then read or hear the episodes in order as our main character learns AI and discovers SUNNYVAiLE alongside you.

    Season One teaches the AI basics in 24 episodes, because we remember the glory days when a season had time for a proper plot, a questionable haircut and at least one inexplicable musical episode. Future seasons will continue the story—and take your AI fluency further.

    Unlock the idea

    Each episode pairs an unfamiliar AI concept with a film, television moment, character, lyric or gloriously specific Y2K reference your brain already understands.

    Because sometimes “context window” makes more sense when explained through The Devil Wears Prada—and butterfly clips, roll-on glitter and a suspiciously translucent landline have waited long enough to contribute to your professional development.

    Make it click

    Open the practice pieces that are actually ready for that episode. Blend & Snap keeps each Try-On, one-page guide and teaching-card pack unavailable until its exact component passes review; the Pop Quiz remains a separate stop.

    When a piece is available, it should leave you with something you can actually use—not just another tab you opened with excellent intentions and quietly abandoned three Tuesdays ago.

    You can explore SUNNYVAiLE without signing up. Make a Resident Card at MAiKEOVER and keep it on this device; account-backed Card restoration and cross-device continuation are not currently verified.

    Delta LAi Nu—SUNNYVAiLE’s sorority house—remains open to browse without a Card. Girl Talk is available there as a private honour-system SUNNYVAiLE spin on the classic ’90s truth-or-dare game; live conversation uses Hyvor’s separate sign-in when available.

    Membership is free: no pledging, no rush week and no matching pink velour Juicy tracksuit required—although the outfit is highly encouraged… especially on Wednesdays.

It’s considerably more fun than joining yet another professional networking group.

Your Closet keeps your Resident Card beside clearly labelled browser-only finds. Each object says whether it belongs to this browser or remains a future feature:

  • Charms — Hidden around town. Spot one and it snaps onto your bracelet.
  • Puffies — Puffy stickers that mark your favourite Handbook pages. The Puffy Board keeps them together.
  • Stickers — Selected quizzes and activities can add keepsakes to your Card. They are saved in this browser.
  • Trading cards — Preview the teaching prompts planned for each episode. Packs, ownership, duplicates and trading are not available yet.
  • Mail — Notes and gifts to your girls through the Post Office. Coming soon.
